International ArtExpo is selecting all interesting video/short.films to include in the next 2009 Exhibitions: ATTITUDE Festival – Center for Contemporary Public Arts – Bitola, Macedonia (June 26-30, 2009).
The Attitude Festival collaborates with many cultural organizations (ArtExpo Italy, Prima Centre Berlin/Skopje, The One Minutes Foundation Amsterdam, EAF Adelaide, Remont Belgrade, SKUC Galerija Ljubljana, Museum of Contemporary Art Skopje Macedonia, Franz West Studio Wien, Visura Aperta Zagreb and others). The Attitude Festival targets both new and existing audiences, seeking to attract national and international art audiences. This year presentation of video art and experimental film will be shown in public spaces, in front of few banks in the city as a reaction of financial globalization in the world. Read more...

Special Issue on: “Creativity and Interdisciplinarity” – a Discursive Tension?
Interdisciplinarity and creativity are the buzz words of the moment. However, these terms are often employed without consideration for their complementary value. The policy agendas that drive current developments in research are often instrumentalist, conflating creativity with innovation and interdisciplinarity with novel epistemologies. Such research often engages new technologies, with a consequent emphasis on novelty for its own sake. Related research debates are interestingly and inevitably manifesting as a result of the accelerated interactions within and between disciplines. This special issue invites contributions which explore relationships between interdisciplinary research methodologies and creative practices informed by various forms of technology, both old and new. Digital Art and Culture 2009 is the 8th in an international series of conferences begun in 1998. DAC is recognized as an interdisciplinary event of high intellectual caliber. This iteration of DAC will dwell on the specificities of embodiment and cultural, social and physical location with respect to digital technologies and networked communications. DAC09 will be structured around themes, each theme being composed of panels. DAC09 will be held in the Arts Plaza of the University of California Irvine. Simon Penny is director of DAC09.
